I`m not a professional but am an avid DIY. You are quite right in saying that water and elect. dont mix. In Turkey the power sockets all seem to be 2 pin ie Pos & Neg-- no earth! If some of the plumbing gives up and water gets into that socket, if your lucky and whatever shorts out blows its fuse thats OK. But if the fuse doesnt blow the appliance its connected to could be the source of the power trying to go to earth and if someone is touching the appliance they are then the earth seeing as they will be standing on the floor. You can either get the socket moved ( best scenario) or fit a waterproof socket, still not earthed so not so good.Not sure if these are available readily in Turkey. Final option is to cover it up and make sure no water can get to it and dont use that particular socket.
