i was told in sept it was not possible in turkcell shop and there was not a misunderstanding with language the girl spoke briliant english
that will be a help to a lot of people who forgot to re charge

yes this is interesting as till i got the hang of this keep topping up palaver ,i lost 3 diff numbers in the winter absence from turkey. in some ways it would be cheaper to just get a new sim and retain your last num you lost through lack of re charging. but as i said before when you top up with turkcell now after you top up keep listening and you will get a msg in english saying ,i quote [to retain the number you must recharge before xxxx the date is given . i never realised this msg was on there untill i topped up last oct and instead of ending the call i hung on and then i heard this msg ,so now i always hang on and make a note of the msg top up date that is given .
