Re: Climate , water ,earthquakes, sailing etc etc
1. When I print a map of the coastal areas I get basically two areas. Mugla which covers Bodrum in the West through to just East of Fethiye and Fethiye/Kas in the West stretching to Alanya in the East which is the Antalya region. Not trusting to weather sites is there anyone with experience of these regions (near the coast) who can tell me what if any are the differences in climate across these two regions. For example , would Marmaris be warmer in the winter than say Alanya ?
1a/By looking at the weather patterns of warm fronts, the Alanya area tends to be more warmer in the winter than Marmaris
2. Along the same theme as the above are there any areas in these regions that have water supply problems ?
2a/The Bodrom area has only just mentioned last year, that the supply of water to the demand will be effected. Here in Akbuk, which is 40 minutes drive away, has had restrictions enforced to the water supply
3.Again when considering earthquake trends are any areas more affected by quakes than others ?
You will find that there is a main fault that runs along the south coast of Turket, underneath Fetiye, rhodes, and another fault up towards the sea of Marmara, lstanbul.Even though there are many tourist areas away from the fault lines, and they only feel the lesser of the tremors, but if you look at the historic ruins, that has large cracks in them. That tells me that the history of earthquakes were quite severe
4.Sailing , I don't ,but my aim is to learn and buy my own modest boat. So , where along this coast would I be looking at inparticular for sailing facilities ?
l know in Altinkum has facilities for sailing, but the areas of Bodrum,l'm not quite of
Thanks kindly to anyone who takes the time to give me some help with the above.
