Re: Scooter regulations

According to the police chief in Mugla, you are right biker bob. Anyone checking their UK licence will see that it does not even qualify you to ride a scooter or motorbike in the UK...it only allows you to use it as a provisional scooter licence. Turkey does not recognise UK provisional licences. The police chief says that you must have either a full UK motorbike licence or a Turkish motorbike licence and cannot drive here LEGALLY on a UK car licence. He has also pointed out that anyone driving a scooter on a UK car licence even if they have insurance for the scooter, is actually driving illegally without insurance as their insurance is not valid without a legal driving licence. I know we all know how many Turks drive here without licence or insurance but that is no defence in law when you get done!
