come to istanbul and you will see some driving that will put hairs on your chest. crazy over taking, triple parking, taxis trying to break the world land speed record and not to mention the dolmus drivers that pull out in front of you.
you get to learn some very colourful words in turkish and you end up driving like them.
I brought my car over from london and does tend to get a lot of stares (right hand drive with a 34 plate) and my wife had a little crash last week as some idiot came out of a back street without looking to see if any traffic coming (happens all the time). I suspect some drivers get their license along with a pint of milk and a loaf of bread from the local bakkal.
but you just learn to get on with it as this is the way most cities on the med drive. what gets me is why trucks seem to have no hurry overtaking each other. one truck doing 15mph the other one over taking at 15.5mph.
I do admire my brother-in-law as he has the ability to drive whilst talking over the phone and eating a kebab at the same time.
