Re: seabus to kyrenia?
Hi there..the ferry on a Thursday leaves at about 11am or 12 md..you can get your ticket from the Fergun Offices which are on the street leading to the harbour. You will also be charged port taxes which is very little.
Get there early to be sure of a seat in the cabin. The journey takes between 3 and 4 hours. You can take a taxi from the Harbour to the town Harbour(there are two harbours).we have always stayed in one of the little hotels around the town harbour..the Golden Lion is ok and reasonable..
When you go back go to the ferry harbour you will see a building with steps on the outside..(next to the customs/passport control..its necessary to go there to verify your ticket if you have booked a return, its a formality.
Then when you go into the waiting room before passing through passport control notice a little booth at the side of the door where people will be queuing..you pay your port taxes there again before going through passport control.
its all straight forward but knowing these little bits helps to ease it.
Have a wonderful time, Girne is a lovely little place and you can cross through into the Greek area through Lefkoşa/Nicosia crossing.
Also there are casinos on every corner in Girne where you can spend the night gambling or watching others losing their money...and have a free drink at the same time.
