I wonder if the builders are confusing the mains gas with tanked gas,
There is a holiday village being built in Uzumlu there is no way they could have mains gas but on speaking to the builder he kept telling us that all the properties will have mains gas and a meter in each property,
We eventually got to the bottom of this matter, it turns out that yes all the properties will have gas central heating and gas cooking and they will have a gas meter. hidden away on the site is a very large gas tank, which will feed all properties, they will not read meter like the uk but will have a card system like the ETM meters on the UK (pay as you go).
This is maybe what they are meaning by mains gas.
