Kitchen worktop cutting jig

Has anybody seen or know were to get a Worktop cutting jig in Turkey,to cut wooden worktops,I have asked in all the big Yapi stores and nobody has a clue what i am talking about, i have even shown a picture of one .I would rather not use the joining pieces that are used here, i did that in England 15 years ago and was not impressed.

Re: Kitchen worktop cutting jig

It can be done with a skill saw and a very sharp hand saw.
Screw a straight edge to the under side of the worktop so as to take out 25mm x the width of the worktop finishing with a 45% cut on both male and female joints ,thus a sharp hand saw.
Did this many a time when starting out as a fitter.Hope this helps.

Re: Kitchen worktop cutting jig

If you dont like jointing strips and dont have a jig. . . As long as you have a Router with a straight flute cutter, you can get a neat joint with a 45 degree mitre. You will need the Jointing bolts. You would have needed those if you were planning a butt and scribe joint anyway. All you need is a straight edge.
Are there no tool hire shops in Turkey ?

Re: Kitchen worktop cutting jig

If you are only going to use it a couple of times you could possibly make one. Its just a short 45 o/o angle then a straight cut.
