Akbuk where to go

Hey guys, I'm come over to Didim last August last year but never really had the time to go to Akbuk. Coming back again this August, Questions is there a beach area anyone can recommend and where it is, I'll be coming with my 4 young kids so needs to be safe etc. Also whats it like compared to Altinkum and Yesilkent. Any other advice would be helpful..thanks

Re: Akbuk where to go

Best beach is near Sahte Cennet, great for kids as its very shallow for a about 100 metres, which also means it warms up quite well. Jump on a Dolmus and tell him you want to be off at the University and Sahte Cennet, there are plenty of cafes down there as well. Akbuk itself very quiet but picturesque sea front, more for sipping coffee and beer, there are one or two little parks and usually a little funfair and craft market on the front in a summer. You can get boat trips from there as well.

Re: Akbuk where to go

The water is very shallow in Akbuk bay - but the sand is course (Altinkum has better sand.)

The Council put pontoons out soon - but obviously as you say your kids are small, they might not be able to swim?

We live in Akbuk with kids, but to be totally realistic, apart from the dodgy funfair (take your life into your hands!!lol), walks and shallow water there is little to do with young kids.

When you live here and you have bikes, friends, toys, pools etc there is plenty to do with kids, but it is different if you are just 'popping' over.
