On the subject of Air-conditioners, which are the most economical? Tekzen have at the moment, a SEG 9,000BTU for 599TL.

Re: Air-condition units

The most economical are the inverter type for both heating and cooling, they often rate ac units with the same ratings you would get on appliances at home, ie A or maybe A+ on ac units they usually have 2 ratings one for cooling and one for heating

As for the noise levels the cheaper ones are often 34 dB whereas a much more expensive one maybe 19 dB

The same unit is 40TL cheaper in Kipa at the moment, they are R22 and not as advanced as the latest units. they are still good units if installed correctly, this is the key to all units installed here though, expensive or cheap.

Re: Air-condition units

personally i dont think you can beat the arcelik fitters when fitting arcelik units . We have had 4 fitted & apart from one new one only fitted 6 months ago the others are all going perfect 7 years on from fitting [abeit the odd re gas ]
And their guarantee is rock solid . Any prob & they are straight out to sort it [even at 11 pm in the evening ]

The ‘odd re gas’ you mentioned indicates that they were not installed properly and gas is escaping to atmosphere. You are making your contribution to Global Warming and the destruction of the ozone layer. Don’t worry about it though you are among a growing number of people doing the same thing.
