Bodrum to Didim Road

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how the new road from Bodrum to Didim is moving along '"if at all" and have any street lights been erected? I tend to take the mountain route! when I can get day flights that is.
Thank you

Road is still waiting to be worked on, when you leave Milas street lights become very rare until you reach Didim, the part around the edge of Lake Bafa is the worst,no lighting and very little in the way of road work signs.
I take the mountain road unless there is heavy rain even at night.

Hi Basic,
Yes i know what you mean about the lighting and i didnt expect anything else in that department, i was more curious has to how well the actual road is comming along, i was half expecting someone saying "oh yeah its twenty mins quicker now" but thats because during the winter abscence you forget about "Turkey time",

Re: Bodrum to Didim Road

The road as a whole compared to this time last year is 100 per cent better, from the airport until you reach Bafa (tunnel)is pretty good, care needs to be taken along the Bafa stretch, then it is fine until you turn off for Didim.

Mountain road?
Is that the road where you take a left as you are coming from milas at the fish factory?
if so then anyone prfering the flat road to the moutain road must be absoluately bonkers.
i took that road once in broad daylight during summer and beautiful as it was but it was horrifying.Never again

Re: Bodrum to Didim Road

you take a left 7 kms from the airport ,once you have learnt the route it is fine more than i can say for the Milas -Didim route which is horrific at night especially with the lorries and the Turkish drivers who don't seem to know were the dip switch is
