About to move to Yesiltepe

Can anyone give me up to date info. on Yesiltepe please. Have looked at posts on here but all seem to of been posted around 2011 or earlier.
I am in process of purchasing here and have been warned "it is not safe out there", also you have to pay monthly fees of around 100tl, it is much to far out from Akbuk!!!!!

I am about to buy a detached villa with a pool and I really love it and it will be my new home, just me and my dog.

Any info would be gratefully recieved, electric and water, are there many down times. I have also been "told" there are lots of break-ins, if so is this mainly empty holiday homes or does it happen to residents?

Been coming out to Akbuk since 2006 and really looking forward to retiring out there

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

Just my opinion only, but, there are break-ins, just as there are in any other neighbouring areas, Yesiltepe has its own security watch (run by some residents & people who are holiday residents). The site fees (koop) for a plot are 15tl pr month, so not sure where the 100tl came from, of course there will be additional fees such as water, elec etc... hope this helps.

Thanks Jan, relieved about the 100tl, 15tl is very good.

That is what I thought about break-ins, Akbuk itself has it's fair share. As for not being safe out there my little dog is pretty nifty at ankle nipping. I think I will adopt a bigger version to help him out!!!!!

Thanks again for your response

İ generally dont like to slate anywhere but i would never buy in yeşiltepe, you may ntice when you go there that nearlly all he villas are for sale, there must be a reason for that, also the breakins are alot more than akbuk, but if you do buy there i hope your happy but make sure you get a good price as most people are moving away from there..

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

Thank you, and I hope you are happy on your return to Blighty.

If you still need help with the cats, I am hoping to move about June/July and willingly give them a home if they didn't mind my little dog.

Hope it works out for you

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

Hi Avbob you sound like a nice fella, i hope your move goes smoothly for you , i am just moving to Acbuk in April hope you dont mind me asking but why you moving from Acbuk, i think its a lovely place to be?, if you are serious about getting another dog, the pound in Altinkum is full of beautiful animals in need of a nice home i am sure it will make you a lot safer having
another dog as burglars wont go near your place if they hear dogs barking.
I myself would love to have one but i do not live there permanantly, all the best to you. x

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

Hi Benny22, had to laugh at "being a nice fellow" afraid I am every inch a lady, but I am a nice lady lol.
Actually I love Akbuk, as I said been visiting since 2006. I have an apartment at Apollonium in Bozbuk about 15 mins from Akbuk along the coast road. I always go into Akbuk to eat and shop when I am out there, which is about 3 times per year. Apollonium is quite isolated but it is lovely.

When I move out permanently I want a villa with some space and a pool (have to keep fit) I can buy a much bigger villa and plot of land in Yeseltipe for my money. As I am used to a 15min drive into Akbuk, this does not bother me.

As for another dog, yes I am serious. I have always had German Shepherds and I love them, but when I lost my last one to cancer 4 years ago I said, no more dogs. However 1 year ago I feel in love with a little shih tzu and so Ollie (Oliver) arrived. Love him to bits, so cute. I need to get there, and soon as settled, I will home another dog.

Hope your move to Akbuk goes well, and if you notice someone with a little black and white fluffy dog do say hello, I hope to be there by the end of June/early July

Avril

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

As for break-ins Avebob they usually happen when owners are in residence, as thieves are looking for money/jewellery/ and other small items that can be easily sold on. These items are not left in the property when people leave.

Re: About to move to Yesiltepe

We have lived at Yesiltepe for over five years now,yes there was a lot of break in's in the first couple of years, these seemed to have died down now and in the last eighteen months there has been very few, the last one being new years eve, as for every house being up for sale, we walk our dogs daily and there are three or four with signs on, no more than usual. Maybe someone should get their facts right.
