Help needed from Akbuk residents

Hi, I'm just wondering if any members here that live in Akbuk will check any bins you pass. We had our bag stolen from the beach today, almost opposite the university. It had our residency permits, scooter documentation, driving licence in it, scooter keys, house keys, mobile. I can't see this being of any use to anyone else, so hoping it turns up in a bin somewhere. Thank you so much. Sue and Tony xx
PS, the buggers even took my clothes, luckily they left one towel, and if you see anyone walking around in an Oasis Maine Rd tee shirt, it belongs to Tony.

Re: Help needed from Akbuk residents

So sorry to hear this. Someone I know had their wallet stolen, but it was dumped after the money had been taken out of it, so his driving licence and paperwork was still inside. Hope you find your stuff.

Val

Re: Help needed from Akbuk residents

Sorry to hear this Sue.

I presume you have spare keys for your scooter so you can cruise the area yourself to look for stuff. If not I'll help do a search tomorrow.

PS. will miss you both at tonight's gig.

Re: Help needed from Akbuk residents

Thanks Rob, yes we have got spare keys to the scooter, but trying to report the theft has been a nightmare. We initially went to the university to ask someone to phone the Jandarma, and the person we spoke to on the phone said to meet them tonight at the university, but Tony is convinced it was the security guard, so we haven't been. We flagged down a taxi to get us back home and we told him what happened and he stopped at the Jandarma traffic post to ask who we need to speak to and they said the polis where the theft happened, anyway, we got back home and called the polis from there, and they said call the polis from the place of theft, so trekked back and got a guy at Sahte Cennet to call the polis, and they said to go to Altinkum polis station, so off we went, and the very nice polis man on the gate informed us they are closed, and come back tomorrow . . . aarrggg! We have had a good look round the bins, but no joy, just hope it turns up. Catch up soon. Sue xx

Oh Sue what a nightmare for you and Tony. Most people and the Polis have been most unhelpful to you. It's such a pity that you had so much paperwork with you. It leaves a nasty taste in the mouth when something like that happens to you. Best of luck and see you both in September. Hils x

What a blooming palava, typical of this country. A simple 999 service is what's needed but oh no, that would be too much to expect.

I know Hilary, we were always under the impression we needed to carry this with us, in future we will carry photo copies . . hind sight is a wonderful thing. The polis were good, when we eventually managed to report it. Just hoping some of the stuff will turn up. Sue xx

Re: Help needed from Akbuk residents

I hope your documents turn up Sue :-( We copied Larrys' passport page and drivers Licence as we always have a hire car, whenever stopped always accepted as proof. As you said hindsight is wonderful. Just so damn thoughtless barstewards.

Re: Help needed from Akbuk residents

Thanks Lesley, I just can't believe we have become so complacent. Luckily Tony does have scanned details of everything lost, maybe some bits will turn up, if not its the trek to get things sorted next week after bayram.. Sue xx
