Maintenance price

Hi
We are to sign a three year maintenance agreement and want to check if 1500 per year is a reasonable price in Akbuk for taking care of garden, pool and repainting the house every fifth year?
Thankful for any information.

That to me seems rather extortionate. Don't tell me they want the three years up front? As for signing a "three year agreement", I would be looking to see how valid that agreement would be in the courts before signing it............which would mean for starters having it notarised. If you read some of the threads on this forum you will see that agreements/contracts tend to mean nothing in Turkey most of the time & to be honest even when notarised you can still fall foul.

Re: Maintenance price

I also find it expensive, but the bit I like is its a 3 year contract with painting every 5th year, sounds strange to me.

Re: Maintenance price

I would also want some things clarifying. eg Does this include chemicals for the pool? How often will the pool be cleaned? How often will they visit the villa for inspection/garden work? Does it include the paint for the 5 year painting? Last year we had our large villa painted, it took 4 men with scaffolding about 4 days to do. Total cost including scaffolding and (good quality) paint was TL4000. I hope this helps.

Re: Maintenance price

Friends of ours have a duplex in Yesilkent , they have a tennis court, kids play area, two massive pools , well tended gardens and the whole place is painted when neccessary
Their maintenance is around 600 a year to give you some comparison

Re: Maintenance price

Seems expensive to me. Personally I think you'd be crazy to sign a 3 year agreement. Get a monthly cost, summer & winter for both pool & garden (low maintenance required during out of season) and then get a break down for costs of pool chemicals etc.

Re: Maintenance price

Why are they quoting the cost in Pounds ?
They would seem to be taking the pi$$.

Re: Maintenance price

THINK VERY CAREFULLY - we are on a complex of around 80 apartments with pool and gardens and a lift and used to pay 600 per year. The company who used to look after things were voted off last year and we were a little apprehensive when a new committee was voted in. We have just returned and the gardens are looking loads better than before, as does the pool area. We have better security too and the maintenance is less than half it was. 1500 seems extortionate to me.
