Moving to new apartment, need advice and information!

We´re in the process of moving to a bigger apartement here in Alanya, and i really need information and advice. We want to hire professional movers for the heavy stuff, like furniture, white goods and such. We will take care of the home electronics ourselves.

Questions then. Are there such things as professional movers in Alanya? If so, has anyone tried them?

hi İgor..we have moved no end of times inside and outside of Alanya.
Turkish people are always on the move and so there are lots of house movers around.
but you have to do all the packaging of small things china etc..
and then they do it very easily any day of the week.
the word is nakliye or taşıyıcı..a mover or carrier.

Grrrrreat information, thanks a million! Could you by any chance recommend a name? What is the procedure, do they come over to your apartment and estimate the amount of work and the cost before making a deal? Hmmmmm, kinda stupid questions here, i have to blame the fact we´ve only been here for five months, hehehehe.

We are moving to a 165 square meter apartment (3+1) situated nearby the Atatürk Spor Salonu and Alanyaspor training facility/club house. Maybe ten minutes walk from our present apartment (near the fish market), so its not a long way to drive

Thank you again, shirleyanntr, things are on the move alright now, i´ve hired a company called Babacan, told to be honest and reliable. They have been in the business in Alanya for 15 years now and still hangs in there.

We´re busy packing china and stuff right now, and the big move takes place thursday 21st of August. Everything seems OK for the moment, hopefully it will stay that way

I can very well understand that, that´s why we hire people to do the actual "hey boys, grab that 250 kilo sofa, will ya" thingies for us
