Question Oba or Mahmutlar?

Hi,

(new here)

Me, my wife and our then 7 month old baby plan to rent an apt around Alanya in September. I've found two likely candidates, one in Oba and one in Mahmutlar and am now looking for advice where to go..

We do not plan on doing all that much, just get away from home and don't feel like staying at a hotel for that long. Most important is that there is plenty of restaurants and easy access to groceries etc. We are also not looking for a party-place, obviously. Rather somewhere where you are not disturbed at night.

Any recomendations for me?

thanks!

Hi welcome TLF,
Oba is close to the center Mahmutlar 10 KM to center and little population in winter, alot of shops are closed out of the season

Re: Oba or Mahmutlar?

Agree with Antalya and Shirley that Oba is better for September visit. Better beach too (in my opinion). Good Monday market and bars, shops and everything you will need in easy reach. Hope you have a great holiday.

Re: Oba or Mahmutlar?

Have you thought of Avsallar not so far to travel from the airport, lovely beaches, plenty of restaurants and bars without being rowdy and in between Side and Alanya if you want to do some site seeing.

@Jane: No I have not, I take it you think I should? Any tips on what to look for, any areas that are better than others or anything else?

We spend the winters in Mahmutlar, most of the restaurants are open throughout and the shops very rarely close, for me Oba doesn't even come a close second !!,

Re: Oba or Mahmutlar?

avsallar has got one of the best beaches in this area.its also growing in popularity with people looking for second homes..however like mahmutlar it generally has little to offer outside of the main holiday season.
there again it depends what you are wanting from your time.
