Can Hospital

Well....i need to share this wih you so that when you have to go o a hospital in Alanya you DONT go to the Can..
Last sunday our 3 year old son Presley was run over by a car.
We went straight away to a hospital what unfortunatly was Can Hastanesı )was the second time to let us down). İ was sitting there with the child on my arm and they refused to help because i had no money on me!!!!!
They wanted me to go home first to get the money and then come back.
İ (conny) started screaming and almost hit the doctor..i promised them that i would telll everybody that it wasnt here goal to help people but to get as money as they could get..thats why they could build the new hospital here.
İ left the hospital screaming and Shouting and went with another taxi to Hayat Hastanesı were they helped me without asking anything...there i told them what had happened and they were shocked! Thank God Presley wasnt badly hurt but what if every minute had counted??? what would had happened???
İm still SOOOO ANGRY!!!!!

Re: Can Hospital

How awful, you poor thing I too would have wanted to hit the doctor!

We are soo used to the NHS in the UK, it is a really scary thought that, god forbid, anything bad happens, our lives will depend on our bank balance!

Im really glad your son was alright :-)

Re: Can Hospital

Sorry to hear that, Conny.

It could have been a serious injury without any obvious symptoms at the time! How would they know without an examination?

Just goes to show how important it is to know your local hospitals and make sure you're carrying a copy of your insurance details and cash/cards.

Hope he's not too traumatised by it all! (and you for that matter!)

Take care

Phil

And which hospital is the real Turkey Mark? There is good and bad everywhere, Turkey, Britain, Spain, you name a country and it has good and bad things going for it.

Conny I bet you are angry, thank God he is ok.

Re: Can Hospital

Lewismark,

There is nothing peculiar to Turkey about this practice - there are European countries who will charge you for hospital treatment, and we've all heard about skiers being given short shrift for not having any insurance.

As somebody who is in the business of promoting Turkey - you're not doing a brilliant job!

Or do your 'Dream Homes' come with a 'Dream Hospital'?

Re: Can Hospital

A good to see you back Lewismark, it has been a while since I last saw you on the forum.
Are you no longer in Alanya? You give a UK telephone number on your all new look website. Helping the Dutch now! As Philco says you are not giving a good impression of Turkey with your statements. Look forward to reading more of your thoughts about Turkey, we have had so many in the past from you.
