Re: Can Someone Help This Dog
Hi everyone, sorry for delay in update today.
I went up to my new house and looked for her on the way up but no sign. However, she was there at the usual place at 6pm on my return. I took her some cooked chicken and antibiotics concealed in some cheese and she actually let me sit with her while she was eating. I topped up the water bowl I had left for her and she actually wagged her tail when she saw me. She even let me pet her.
Its not all good news. She is extremely emaciated and her eyes are badly infected and her breathing is still rather laboured.
I am just hoping the antibiotics start to kick in soon.

Great new Ang, I have done a lot of animal behaviour research amd if she knows she is loved she will fight. Dog's don't give up easily. I am still trying to get my street dog from Torba back to the UK, just trying to raise the money. My inlaws have just been out for two weeks and fed her the whole time, she slept on the balcony by our front door every night, bless her heart.
Please keep us updated on her, bless you for helping her.

Hi Nick. You must keep us updated on your progress too. How much is it these days to have a dog shipped back and quarantined. Do you have any neighbours that can feed her while you are away?

Re: Can Someone Help This Dog
Hi Ang,
It is £550 for a flight back to the UK and £2500 for the quarantine, plus my fight, we are looking at £3500. I am currently exploring getting her to Germany and her doing her 6 months there and then getting a pet passport. The other 3 dogs she is hanging around with have been there for the past two seasons, so I think she is pretty safe. Our caretaker who has his own dog is keeping an eye on her for us, plus all friends and family that are going out over the next few months are under strict instructions to feed her lol.
Good luck with your girl.

Ang - the antibiotics will take a good 48 hours to kick in. Staying with her while she eats and drinks will ensure she gets to nourishment and not another stray. Did the vet say what had caused the infection? If you can get her fit she has a better chance of survival with or without you, remember she was born to this and is probably tougher than we think, she just needs the helping hand you are giving her to get over this bad spell. Keep up the good work and the fluids.

l think there is a cheaper way of transporting an animal back to England.lf you travel to a eu country and have all the injections needed, with a animal passport as proof that the injections have been done, then it shouldn't be a problem.l'll see if l can find this out for you.
Hows the little muppet doing. Can you paste a photo of her on the forum.l would love to see her.
