Re: Apollon Village Apartments

Hi Beut - If its Apollon Village on the Ege Cadessi in Altinkum then.....

Youve got: The Green Restaurant 2 mins walk away, Ignite, La Plazza, Bar 12, The Rising Sun, Istanbul Restaurant and a fish and chip shop, all within 5 mins walk. Migros Supermarket also within 5 mins walk and a couple of Turkish Restaurants that I cant remember the name of also within 5 mins walk. Yenishar is around 10-15 mins walk away and there you have jewllers, restaurants, furniture shops, mobile phone shops, butchers, bakers, household shops, blah blah. To walk down to the main beach will take you around 20 - 30 mins dependent on your speed and you can catch a dolmus outside Migros and that will take around 5-10 mins to get you to the main beach.

Hi Ms Who

Thanks for the reply

I'm really not sure of the area you mentioned but the Migro Supermarket rings a bell. If it is the place it seems as there's quite a few things nearby.
I imagine there are buses that take you into the centre quite cheaply if we need to go to town.

Re: Apollon Village Apartments

Or do you mean the Apollon Holiday Village constructed by Wisemove homes/AYKAR where I have an apartment and they are currently selling phases 2 & 3? If so, it is between the Temple of Apollo and Mavisehir. Bar/restaurant on site (& 2 more open by 2010 latest. courtesy bus day and evening along to Altinkum front and to the supermarkets/restaurants (takes 10-20 mins depending on season). It is walkable to the Mavisehir beaches/restaurants and the dolmus stops on the main road (about 10 mins stroll from the apartments). Suits me fine as I like being slightly away from the the main action, but with fantastically easy access via the bus (great with 2 small children.. no hiking with all the beach gear/shopping). When finished the complex as a whole will have 3 swimming pools (plus one indoor), crazy golf etc (already has one pool, games room, gym, turkish bath etc.)
Apollon is a popular name for developments - hope you figure it out!

Re: Apollon Village Apartments

Thanks for the info, this is the one I was looking for.
So Mavisehir is a lot closer to Altinkum, I'll have to check all about this place as the beach is closer. I am coming out in October to view so its nice to have information from people that already have an apartment there. It all sounds very good even if its not finished.

Re: Apollon Village Apartments

Hi Beau the dog,

FYI - Phase 1 (where my apartment is) is fully completed, phase 2 should complete by the end of October and phase 3 which is large will complete between 2009 and 2010. As you have the courtesy bus (which will increase in frequency as the complex grows) you don't feel remote from Altinkum at all. In fact I stayed closer-in in Altinkum but as I had to walk everywhere it actually took me longer to get to where I wanted to go, especially in the heat! All the tour operators will collect and return you from the complex if you go on their trips. Same goes for the boat trips. There are also many bars and restaurants who offer a free car service. In the end I came to the conclusion that where you buy isn't really a problem for getting about. Just depends whether you are happy with the area/complex and whether you prefer to walk everywhere. Anyway, enjoy your viewing trip and good luck wherever you buy.

Re: Apollon Village Apartments

Mavisehir is a 10 min drive to Altinkum but 20-30 mins on a normal dolmus due to the stops along the way. The complex you's are talking about is nearer to Sagtur than Mavisehir and that also has its own beaches but not too much going on in the way of bars and shops. Complex seems to be pretty much self contained anway which a lot of the time is all you need on holiday!
