All I know is that they are offering a service that they have been asked for many times.
What they are doing now is sending people scans of stuff in a file that takes absolutely hours. They have been doing this without complaint and decided to have a website done. How can you presume that they are going to rip people off? Everyone has a choice of where to buy and what to buy. This is just another choice; people don't have to use it. I know I looked for a website that could offer this service and had I been able to find one I would have probably used it. But I could not find anything.

This is the shop that i used on 2 occasions to furnish our apartments. Both times i consider i got good deals from them.
However i think most brits like to see price tags on things and i dont think its good idea to advertise goods without it. I had a browse through the website and saw a television ( which is one thing that we want to upgrade this year ) and yet there was no indication of the price.
The end result is not that we will buy from the website, or even enquire about the price.. We will now wait until we visit Altinkum and look in the Gima or Migros for a television.
It could be a useful form of revenue for Engil Mobilya if they used some common sense, but as it stands i cant really see much point to it being there.

Yeah its true, Brits won't bother if there isn't a price. I can't belive the price can vary that much, at least put a guide price on and say that it would need confirming by email.

You know, I am going to ask again if the want to re consider the price issues. It seems pointless to me having an online shop without prices. I don't get it either. I have said to them before that any customers they get on line are extra so any profit is better than nothing.

But it is the same in the shop nothing has a price on it.

Speaks volumes Adam!

They need to get the message that us Brits arent the walkover we used to be.

I think we all realise people need to make a profit however, all is fair in bartering, but a base price to barter from is essential!

I know these people well and have bought lots of items from them.

I agree with all the comments made and they should have a price per item and then a statement saying something along the lines of "discounts given on multiple purchases" i.e. buy a fridge, microwave and telly and get 15% off the total.

Just my thoughts!!

The market in Turgutreis has the prices on things in the winter then they are whipped off before the tourist come They try to rip you off as much as they can, I hate shopping there because of this.

You know this shop is no different than the thousands of others all over Turkey. This post to me seems to have been a soapbox to complain about being ripped off. We Brits! we are not the only nationals that buy... In Alanya most of the shops do not have prices on them. national shops Yatas etc have sale catologues and you might like to know these are different from ones in Istanbul why?... cause we are further away! We all know the syatem here. Part of why we choose to live here... its different.. take the good with the bad. Hone your bargining skills, use common sense and you will not get "ripped off" Why should they change their system to suit to us? I spend a lot of time in Ankara and the shops there are the same.. as there are not many british tourists out there buying this seems to say it is the Turkish way.. Of course the system can be abused but lets face any system can..( thinking of insurance scams, social security etc) As to why more furniture shops obvious to me, there are more people buying as more have bought homes .. think it is called marketing! I agree i think they are all a bit overboard with it... 20 t shirt shops into furniture but competition can only be good for the punters.
