Well firstly let me say that i for one wasnt using the post as a "soapbox" nor was i complaining about being ripped off !

The whole point of the post was in connection with an [u]online</u> shop. All online shops feature prices and i dont see why Turkish ones should expect to be any different.
Sure you haggle in the shops in turkey.. but i'll be damned if i'm going to haggle by bloody email !

Hi im a new member on this site and i have to agree with sandra about the ripoff merchants we bought our furniture in march this year from ENGIL MOBILYA they tried to add 200 quid on the bill when we went to pay, but we wrote down all his prices as he told us and kept them, after a day of hassel he agreed he was wrong but only with the intervention of layla and husband metin.
they also deliverd the wrong furniture and said this is what we orderd another day of hassel, when you only have a week to sort this lot out it gets a bit much,im not saying dont shop there (we wont be) but be careful and write everything down, on a good note all other places were fantastic TAC PERDE for curtains, ENGIN ELEKTRIC for lighting, and ENGIL eletrical for my other goods if only is mobil shop was as good.
Sorry for the moan

Not wishing to go off topic and I know nothing of this shop BUT I wouldn't assume you are being ripped off if prices go down in Winter. In businesses with a short season (sports/holiday places) you make your money in the high season...you may have to cut prices in Winter due to cash flow problems. e.g. you still have to pay lease/rent in November but have less potential customers, so try and get what money you can get, even if very little profit. We do this in the UK too.

Hi Murdo i understand what your saying but I dident get ripped off they just tried to had 200 quid to the final cost.
The original price that we agreed on i was happy with, but when they try to had more to the bill after the furniture was deliverd and it was all the wrong furniture, and then he still wanted me to keep it, he then could not explain why he was chrging me extra that really makes my blood boil.
I could write a whole page on the problem with ENGIL MOBIL but i wont, i dont want to offend anybody,
one of is comments you english have plenty money.
Sorry for being angry

Spanner, I agree TOTALLY with you on that, out of order adding money and saying English loaded etc. My blood would have been boiling too!!!!An agreement is an agreement, so the figure should not alter no matter who you are/what your bank balance is/what nationality you are. I was just responding to the various comments about winter/summer differences as in some folks minds this seems to equate to rip off and that may be judging businesses harshly for an understandable practice )

Just thought (on the Winter line) haven't you all noticed that DFS has Winter sales/price cuts as does M&S..............so the UK does it too

Putting a price on an item is fixed in the likes of your ASDA's and such chains etc but elsewhere I see the price shown as a guide.

If you are happy with the price you pay it - if you are not happy or believe that the seller might be willing to sharpen their pencil a little you can always politely ask for a discount or ask what the seller is prepared to accept.

Most people will always be willing to negociate.

I agree but when you both get to a happy price after negotiating and sign the paperwork then that to me is fixed, if he wants to charge more after delivery and people are willing to pay it more fool them, he knows the brits, and a lot would not have quieried the final total or even send back damaged goods cos they dont want to offend, me i work hard for my money and im not giving it away.
