Very positive read in voices

Not all doom and gloom
David Bishop

THERE have been lots of negative things written and said about Altinkum over recent months. I have just come back from a week’s holiday and wanted to give some positive feedback.

Firstly, everywhere was looking much cleaner and generally tidier than on previous visits. There were lots of refurbishments going on, in hotels, bars and restaurants.

There was a real buzz around town with gardens being cleaned up and flowers planted.
The new Marina is nearly up to speed with more shops and bars due to open soon. I think this could be a good season for the resort.

If the council keeps up the work they have done, then Altinkum will be put back on the map.

I know property prices have fallen but that is global not just in Altinkum. As always in time, things will pick up. So I would urge people not to sell up if you don’t have to as property prices will get better.

Rome was not built in a day and when I look at the progress that has been made in the last few years I can begin to see how things will be in another few years.

I hope this will cheer up the Brits at home that may be worried about things from what they have read.

Re: Very positive read in voices

Great to see a positive post. Not all property prices have gone down. If you buy at the right price and location then it will be the same if not more. We have seen a steady increase. Some who are having to sell for less than they bought isn't due to a falling market but that they bought at too high a prie to begin with/not a great location/need a quick sale.

Even if you bought at the top of the market, you're right, sit tight.

Yes we have just returned and the town is looking very clean and tidy and some nice new bars and a club and a lot of work being done down the front to improve it. All in all we were quite surprised and there is quite a happy atmosphere all around. We are glad to be back!!!!
