Hi Bruce & Sandra, Yes you can have them fitted and much cheaper than the UK there are many outlets who will oblige. I'm sure someone on here may know someone or at least point you in the right direction. Good Luck

Last year when we bought our place Murray was looking at another duplex that needed all new windows and doors in PVC and he was told it would cost no more than £700 and that was for a very big duplex so I imagine they wouldn't cost more than £150-£200 based on that estimate.

Replacement doors and windows are much cheaper than the UK - a fraction of the cost.We have had all our old wooden frames and shutters replaced with PVC and mossie screens. The shutters are roller and can be left in such a way to let in air. Next on the list is the front door and french doors in the lounge

We bought an older property as well Sandra and we are also very happy with the space we have. We could not afford the same thing brand new and we also had some work carried out through Taurean to alter some parts of the property including glazing in one of the balconies with upvc windows to make the bedroom larger. Considering the sizes of the windows and all the other work we had done the windows must be cheaper in Turkey. It was money well spent and we are thrilled with our little house.

Hi Sandra

Our place is in the same area as Teresa's. They did the windows while we were back in the UK and were told to make sure all the mess was cleared away and walls etc spotless or no money! They did a great job and will use them again and apparently it did not take them long to install - no numerous tea breaks like the UK.

In December we planted a rosemary hedge in our garden and put in more citrus trees including a Bergamont orange. We are lucky as our site has a very good gardener/ jack of all trades who will look after our trees and vines.

The grapes our vine produced this year were the sweetest I had ever tasted, and that is not just because they were ours. They were at their best in August I would say, and to be honest I was convinced they would be sour and inedible - but that is Turkey for you!

We hope to be planting in 5/6 weeks from now, and Aladin is right the gardener is great.

Do you eat or ferment your grapes for wine-making. If I had lots of spare time in a place such as Turkey I might dabble into the home brewing again...Alan.
