Apt sold

well finally sold my apt,big mistake buying in turkey anyway, paid 40000 +5,000 for furnishing, connection fees and solicitor fees and dont buy any thing with hotel panormos in altinkum as they rip you off big time.but ended up losing money as sold for 30000.but at least it sold, but i know that the agents got more than this as they said it was not them that sold it but another agent who they were acting on behalf of,rubbish,as they would not leave me for a second to speak to my buyer who was turkish as i could have told him how much i sold for,the problem arose last year when i was trying to sell with a very good agent crescenthomes when i was informed that my apt had been put down as depo on deeds which means ground floor apt was classed as storage unit for builders, but on my contract no mention of this, and nothing mentioned by solicitor or agents as depo would not have made me buy if explained as selling can bring price down by 50% as only turkish will buy but at very lowest price and not all banks give mortgages for this, but agents and solicitor was in denial as to who is at fault, then turned to me saying builder should have informed me,but this was already built and agents were the builders.all i got was ripped off for everything bills, apt price, solicitors who were nominated by panormos hotel back in 2009,who charged me 600 when apt was given as free solicitor, but i asked for independant but found out it was the same free solicitor that was being given free.anyway dont buy from aegeanhomes {lovetours}as all they do is drain you of your money asa i paid twice 450 for connection fees, but they reckon could not remember even though i had proof.best people to deal with is crescenthomes, very helpful and trustworthy.WOULD NOT BUY IN TURKEY EVER AGAIN.

Re: apt sold

Even though you have sold at a loss Biskit, I am sure that this will be a weight off your mind. I don't think you are alone in being charged twice for services, it just seems to be endemic here. When I first came to Turkey over 20 years ago I honestly didn't see the blatant dual pricing and rip offs that we seem to encounter here now. Good luck with your future plans and look on your home owning in Turkey as a part of the rich tapestry of your life.

Re: apt sold

Hi biskitt 44

Sorry to hear that you were ripped off.

I was also ripped off by my builder also (Ayhan Tavaci of Aymet Homes) and sold a depo which I had no idea until I eventually got the tapus for last year.

I am wondering were you able to get a hab cert for your depo?

Well done for selling it.

Regards Linda

Re: apt sold

bisket,
thanks for your honesty. I've been telling people about low prices, etc, but all I get back are questions, questions and more questions on the rubbish i'm spouting. Like i've said, there's only one way to sell in the market @ the moment and that's to accept a huge reduction on what you paid. Most sellers are aprox 2,500 km's from home and havn't a clue. If you want to get screwed, just buy a Turkish property and try and sell for a profit. You must be joking. I'd imagine this will be the way for at least another 20 years at least and before that 20 yrs passes by, i'd expect major incidents to happen in Turkey, with very few of them, if any, being an advantage to any property investors. If you can sell now, with a biggish loss, take it, it's only going to get a lot worse.

Re: apt sold

Irishman is quite correct.

Lets be honest- for the forseeable future it will virtually be difficult to give property away out here let alone make a profit
