Cool Re: why altinkum

Maybe Shirley it's the amount of people from the UK who reside there, a kind of home from home. But not having been there it could be just the beauty of Altinkum that attracts people.

I'm sure they'll let us know.

Its nowhere near as big as marmaris or kusadasi, I have been to both and hated Marmaris and was not too fond of Kusadasi but I guess they along with altinkum have quiter areas as well.

I fell in love with the place the first time we stayed there. It is also a lot cheaper than other larger resorts as you don't pay the tourist tax like in Alanya. It was recommended to my by someone who had been going there for the last 17 years. Well worth a try if you can make it

Re: why altinkum

Altinkum means "Golden Beach", and I think that is one reason why it's very popular with the British buyers. Price is another... still lots of fairly cheap apartments to be had, in fact someone recently mentioned to me that because of all the new developments there are a fair few resale bargains to be had.
