Re: New Kipa Store

WOW,
Being a sunflowerian, i dont know whether thats good or bad news, with a veiw to traffic, noise, and just a generall increase in activity, but one things for sure it will put sunflower on everyones map with regards to,"oh thats the complex next to kippa", anyway without being rude lets wait and see, as its been rumoured for a kippa being built in every corner of Altinkum just about, at some stage or another.
regards martin.

I just did a bit of digging and though i did not find anything i was looking for i came across this interesting read, its not i think wrote by someone who loves Altinkum anyway, but worth a read nonetheless.

Re: New Kipa Store

It's true, passed there this morning and asked the builder what it was going to be. You can tell it's not apartments by the building method. It's a galvanized steel frame with reinforced concret pillars. Also if you have not been here for a while Aydem Electric are busy burying the electricity cables underground and putting up new transformer huts (theres one right in front of the Sunflower near the security man's hut). As they bury the cables the Belediye are laying new footpaths and bloc paving the roads. Should look very smart when it's all finished. Your area will be done in the next few weeks

Re: New Kipa Store

Sorry but dont see that Kipa will change Didim/Altinkum at all, just give us another small supermarket! and I would have thought that Laura who runs the FlyingFish would have tried to talk up Altinkum as its the visitors to the area that surly give her and her husband a living via their boat,

Re: New Kipa Store

Hi Sharon.
Yes i agree if my livlyhood depended on tourism then i too would be talking the place up, maybe she felt at the time of writing that the seafront works were costing them money, as for good or bad Kipa/Altinkum, well i wont have to walk as far for the shopping.
regards martin.

Sorry decided to add a bit rather than double post, for all the years, newspaper articles, gossip, rumours, it seems sad/strange that kipa have eventually decided to cram a store on that land rather than say akbuk rd which was touted for long enough, or down on all the spare land near the marina, and make a real superstore job of it, as opposed to what would be a normal sized supermarket in an area that already has three others,(not counting bims) within a 5 minutes walk of each other.

Re: New Kipa Store

Agree with you Martin, this will only be a small Kipa, a Kipa express, they should have build a big one near Marina Road, and it must be very bad for the Sunflower Complex, it also seems that they will be building more in the front of the complex.

Re: New Kipa Store

Passed it a few days ago and it was obvious it wasn't going to be a very big store.Ref Lauras blog,a rather truthful if tongue in cheek slant on Diddim.
