Stay Away from Balik restaurant

TURKISH FOOD AGENCY visits Balik Restaurant, Sedef Koy Mah, Maliye Lojmatheniari, Mavisehir, Didim, Proprietor Ismail Cakirgoz which has now closed. This is the restaurant set up on the sea cliff in Mavisehir. Ishmael was the chef/manager. I had heard that some people had serious stomach problems after eating there from hygiene and food preparation practices. Wonder where Ismail Cakirgoz is chef now!!

Re: Mavisehir

Hi some of the resturants open all year, just a small food menu normally available, and Cagkir on the seafront has a room at the back with a lovely soba for the evenings,

I'm moving this to Altinkum thread as you may get more replies there, as currently its in Planes, Trains

This thread may be of interest in general on the area, but does not mention specific restaurants that are open in March.

Re: Mavisehir

Just the mention of Mavesehir gives us a warm glow. When we go to our apartment in Altinkum for a couple of weeks we always pay 3 or 4 visits, spending time on the beaches, strolling along the front and market and of course having a beer or two.

Role on May and we will be doing it all over again

She claims that food was sometimes undercooked or served lukewarm and the buffet was sometimes uncovered, which meant insects could land on the food.

Re: Mavisehir

Market is partly open, bit too early to fully open but as its Ramadam in 10 days not sure when it will fully open. There is 1 fruit & veg stall and a cheese stall now open, but the market gets later each year. All the sea front resturants are now fully open and we had a lovelt gosleme at the weekend but on the whole very quiet,
