Re: Just A Warning - Residency Permit

Dear Stuart

What a cad you are to suggest we interrupt the hard working officials at the embassy/consulate, please realise what a hectic schedule they have, all those cocktail parties etc to be fitted in and then there is the daily work to be crammed in between what is it 10 and 2 now and that is five days a week excluding holidays. i know from personal experience just how busy they are as when they forgot to put my new chip passport on the systems some years ago and İ got arrested it took six phone calls before the airport police got someone who they could speak with. So enough of this suggesting you just ring them up with your tedious requests, just suffer in silence and be grateful for the once every five years local visit you get.

Re: Just A Warning - Residency Permit

My RP will expire at the end of this month (feb). Just got my new passport today. I am in country (Turkey). Going to the process of collecting all my stuff for renewal. Even if I get everything done tomorrow...... don't thing I will get a new RP before this expires. My wife is pregnant and due any day/week now. Don't think I will have time to travel anywhere.

Re: Just A Warning - Residency Permit

Went to the goc.gov.tr site. It says first application and Extension. Is the extension the same as the renewal? Is it only for one more year?

Re: Just A Warning - Residency Permit

Ryan, you chose 'extension' if you are applying for another same for same RP & if your existing RP hasn't expired and no details have changed since your previous application this entails the online form to be filled in and all paperwork then posted to your GOC office .
If this as your 1st application for an RP ,your previous RP has expired or there is a name change etc, you then apply for a ''First Application'' which entails the online application and making an appointment for an interview at your GOC office.
