Finding out the valuation from the council

Hi. Can you go to the Council tax department in Turkey and ask them what's the valuation of your property . I can see what it says on the tapu , but after one year would it change much, cheers

Re: Finding out the valuation from the council

Is the value not stated on the receipt when you pay your annual council tax?
OK just checked on mine and no it does not show a valuation.

Obviously not the same organisation but it helps to off-set the recent 40% increase in the water bills.

I enquired a few weeks ago on a couple of forums and was informed that payment are not due until March and it's almost impossible to pay in advance but one piece of good news, If I remember correctly if your Turkish is good enough you can pay by Credit Card from within their site.

Re: Finding out the valuation from the council

Council tax is usually only available to pay late April early May ....but they realise lots of people only holiday in the resorts, so the "fine" for late payment is really miniscule (we were late one year before moving here and the fine was 17 lira )

Well if you cant ask then someone must be able to, because prior to a sale that figure becomes known to both buyer & seller. Im not going to ask what figure you have showing on your tapu but we all know how it used to work, low price given for tax reasons.

Just to add, your doing it the right way if you are thinking of selling.......your doing your homework first :-)
