Re: English Surveyor in Side area ?
It depends on what you require. If it is the usual Concrete plate brick infill built on a raft foundation construction, everything will be neatly hidden with Alci. It will look great. Have a good look yourself. There actually is not a great deal to survey on this type of building, check the water from the sinks and toilet flow away without fuss, look for tell tale signs of rain ıngress through the roof (water runs) but difficult due to lack of rain this year. check exterior ground levels to make sure that it is not higher.(if it is, ask what İzolayson was used. Look on the interior walls to see if there is any feathering in of new plaster at the base, this will tell you if it has or had rising damp problems, if there are signs, ask what was used, or it maybe just hidden for another year! check the ceramic floors, if there is any salt appearing through the grout there is no underfloor izolayson. If you can get to the roof, check to see if there is a membrane under the tiles. If there is a basement again check for lateral penetration of moisture. If there is a flat roof, check to make sure there is proper protection against water ingress and not just ceramic tiles on concrete. At the end of the day you will save yourself a fat surveyors fee by just doing a set piece by piece check, and you would have no come back on a qualified chartered surveyor as in England if he/she did not carry out a full survey or failed to spot a problem.
My company recently completed a contract on 5 brand new wonderful looking villas, but once we stripped the walls down, we discovered the building contractors had used plaster as a construction material instead of sand and cement then Alci. They look wonderful, but underneath.......................?
