Re: Anyone stayed at Club La Costa recently?

Thank you for that toprobroy.

So they are still sticking to the story of an airborne virus. Pity they did not get hospital tests on some of the sick people then they would have known what made them ill. Some people have had NHS hospital tests after returning to UK, so the truth will emerge.

I imagine if the problems are cause by airborne bacteria from outside the resort it would exonerate CLC from any claims. But rubbish claims like the following will not help their plight . . .

"the resort said that the local hospital in Didim had been overrun with local people suffering the same problem - several thousand had been affected and the local government had identified the pollen as the problem."

Has anyone seen thousands of sick people queuing up at A&E in Didim hospital recently?

Interesting about the Pollen. Is that then now the defacto cause of it all, or is there some sort of cover up. I guess more local people on your Forum will know best, how and if the locals suffered.

Re: Anyone stayed at Club La Costa recently?

Most unlikely it was an airborne bacteria or virus, they are extremely poor vectors and quite indiscriminate.

From reading reports from people who had been there, it seems much more likely to have been due to poor hygiene standards around food preparation - most reports of illness seem to be following eating in the restaurant - and the apparent reduction in cases following the local health inspector visit to take samples (guess they got the chance to clean up properly before the visit).

Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone stayed at Club La Costa recently?

Its one of those things that will probably never be known 100% and people will just make up their minds from whatever they read. I've been a Club La Costa Owner for over 10 years and never heard of or had the problem, but it doesn't mean it can't and hasn't happened.

Re: Anyone stayed at Club La Costa recently?

Its irrelevant whether its club la costa or not and it clearly has happened, unless all those reports are wrong.

With neither of us being there, we have to go on the reports from those that became ill, which typically happened after eating in the restaurant, not after smelling the flowers (pollen). Those who didn't eat in the restaurant appeared to have fared better.

Can't posts links yet (very sensible policy) but if you go on wikipedia and type in infectious diseases it summaries the most effective methods for transmission.
