Thumbs up Our forthcoming visit to Apollonium [Club la Costa]

my first thread/posting...

As we plan to visit the above, I would very much appreciate the following information please:
1. Any local places that are a 'must' to visit
2. A local map [web link would be good] - google earth is a little out of date as always and cannot even be certain where the resort is using that
3. Recommendations from local restaurants and eating places - even from the owners! I understand that there is little or nothing of such in Bozbuk and would need to go to Akbuk; is that correct?

In advance, many thanks.

Oh, and one more thing...

Am I correct that there has been no recurrence of the nasty bugs at the resort since last August [fingers crossed]?

Depending what time of year you are going there is a bus from Bozbuk to Akbuk, in the winter though they dont run as regularly, in summer I think they are every half hour.

Hi we are club la costa members also and have visited Apollonium many times it is a very relaxing place when you arrive. The inital transfer was from memoray nearly an hour and a half which was just about acceptable however when we checked last year all the transferrs have changed and it is now taking CONSIDERABLY longer unless you are paying for a private taxi..... I would suggest if you are using the clubs transfer you double check the transfer time as it really put us off going again. If you walk along the small beach you will get too what is know as the chicken shack.... it sells great food and good beer a family run business and very friendly. There is also a local small shop just outside the site that sells fresh produce as the shop on site was poorly stocked and very expensive. Taking the local taxi/bus is well worth it and there are some great uncommeralized places to eat and drink ENJOY

Visit Kazikli harbour. There's a lovely small hotel there - Tan hotel I think, nice spot for a beer and watch the boats. If its open the Giritli restaurant is a must - float out on your private pontoon table on the sea. The waiter has to come to you on a rowing boat. If your lucky they leave a fishing line on your table so you can amuse yourself with a spot of fishing after you've eaten. Fabulous experience.
Places to visit - Herklia at Bafa lake is close by as is the ancient ruins of Miletos and the newly renovated old Mosque. Apollon Temple in Didim is also a must - you can easily do that by bus
