As it is Turkey then it should be Lira. I have seen a few things marked up in dollars or euros and haggle over that and then still pay in Lira. As for sterling....isnt it about time to get rid of it and go for euros?

Nearly all Turkish shopkeepers like the good old sterling because many of them save it for the time when the exchange rate increases and then they reap the benefit, flash a wad of tenners at them, many Turks like to barter and probably the best way to strike the deal is to offer them half of what they are asking and go from there, please remember that by "haggling to the death" for the item means that you should finally purchase it as the seller may feel offended, you will also find that you have gained a friend for life, good luck.
