Well number 1... I agree and would be thinking the same - 6 weeks rental is just money down the pan and who is gonna give discounts in high season.

The "purchase" "resale" option is the way to go IMO.

But that has its problems too.

Before you make a car purchase here you need a Turkish tax number.
We can do that in one day no prob at no cost.

You would also need a few hours spent at a notary with the transferor and you would have to make sure that ANY vehicle you buy has a "tourist" number plate. These can be hard to find anytime of the year. A transfer from a Turk plate to a tourist "MA" plate could be very time consuming and even extend the off road period up to a week or two!


I forsee the real problem reselling the car on departure.

You could end up losing a bundle.

I guess a "private" rental would be more appropriate but I am in Kusadasi so of little help in this respect.
