Sandra,
the airlines are getting really strict on baggage allowance.
A friend of mine travelled at the begining of the week & was only 3 kg over & they charged her. soem airlines are charging about £8 a kilo

Sandra of course I was over weight I really tried not to be this time but hey. We did fly scheduled and I think that makes a difference, aslo they had messed us about with the tickets and then at the airport they tried to make me pay another £100, I got them to phone the head office and I spoke with the people there and the whole thing took one and a half hours so by the time we weighed in they felt really sorry for us and didn't charge us excess.

Have a great time Sandra.

My friend left on sunday, (Mia) and they were first at the checkin trying to get away with the extra weight but they were charged £48 12 kg over. Ray got the scales out ready for mine, hates parting with money that man. I might just make it with having so many different trips out this year. He is dying for the trip where he has no bags, can't ever see that happening but will let him dream on.

I flew with Cyprus Turkish 2 weeks ago and had 20 kilos too much luggage! I was charged 6 pounds per kilo and the total was 120 pounds and it wasnt negotiable so be warned. I flew from Manchester - dont know if that may make a difference?? Most charter airlines charge at least 4 pounds a kilo. I was told Lufthansa charge 9 pounds per kilo...
