Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
Just received this E-Mail from the "On the Beach" Website...
..."We have today been contacted by your airline Goldtrail to inform us that they have taken the difficult decision to cancel their winter 2008 flying programme to Dalaman, Bodrum and Antalya. Unfortunately there have not been enough bookings to enable Goldtrail to operate its planned flights to this destination, both they and we offer our sincerest apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.
Unfortunately no other charter airlines are offering any of these destinations during the winter from UK airports therefore it is in turn impossible for us to provide any alternative flights for you."
We were so looking forward to going on the 8th March We have got 9 weeks notice. This seems to be the down-side of owning a holiday home in Turkey... getting cheap winter flights.
Unless anyone knows any difference?

Onur Fly all year out of Manchester and Gatwick. Book through A1 travel or Aegean flights.

Re: Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
It was our 30th Wedding Anniversary Andy so was looking forward to going to our Holiday Home. Probably book for Tenerife; although that is going to be a lot more expensive!
By the way, before I forget...
Happy Christmas to everyone on the forum & thanks for all the help these forums have given us over the last couple of years!!!
Mel (and Anne)
PS I'll try that Barry.

Re: Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
BA fly to Izmir from Gatwick and you should get some good prices booking this far in advance. Its not a bad transfer time to Akbuk from Izmir. Also Kthy fly London to Izmir non stop a couple of times a week all year round.

Re: Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
Goldtrail use Onur Air for there flights I think. Onur had a flight into Antalya today from Manchester. However there is no return flight.Maybe as Beach says they have been cancelled.

Re: Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
Dont you just hate it when companies do this !!!
We fly regularly to Manchester on Onur Air or Thomas Cook and the flights are almost always full so i cant see why they say there is no interest in the flights unless they were not advertising them effectively or over pricing themselves ??
Regards
Paul

Re: Goldtrail...Cancelled Flights.
It has not happened to us before Paul, but as you can imagine we are really annoyed about it.
We priced a flight from Aegean Flights for 11th March, one week for 2 people... £460.00.
That seems a bit expensive.
You can get a flight AND hotel for the same dates to Tenerife for £400.00!
Mel (and Anne)
PS Incidently, we paid £260.00 for the orginal flight that was cancelled.
