Cookers - Gas or electric?

Hi

Any advice would be appreciated on whether to go for a gas or electric cooker/hob. We would prefer to cook with gas would this pose any problems if we decide to rent our property? We understand you need gas bottles but are not sure about how long they last, how much they cost etc.

Many thanks

hi petenic, why don`t you get a cooker with both. i have 2 gas rings and 2 electric rings and electric oven, best of both worlds+ a microwave which saves using the oven sometimes. but some people prefer gas and others electric

A mix of gas and electric is more important in areas where there are daily power cuts. Go for both and you will never be without!
