Standard Practice, late ticket on Departure charge as there is no time for the tickets to be dispatched in the post.
I think it kicks in either 1 or 2 weeks before the intended travel date, depending on the copmany involved.
I presume the reason is that instead of the cost of a first class stamp, they have to pay for someone to check and give you the tickets at the airport.

I agree this is a disgrace, as the agencies usually have a desk at the airports there is no need for this charge.
My friend often books flight from the internet for anywhere in the world, she never has a ticket just has to go to the desk give them the reference number they give a boarding pass and that is it.
When she stayed with us in May I asked her to check her ticket, this is when she told me that she don't do tickets! I did question whether Dalaman had this system, and surprise surprise they do, and the bonus is she does not have to pay to collect tickets, what a great system.
