Court case Bonds???
With all the talk about court cases and bonds leads me to ask this question:-
What actually happens with regards to this bond? I have been told that you show the money to the court, they give you a receipt and then you can put the money back in the bank. Is this correct? What happens if you lose? Do you have to then hand it over? It's all as clear as mud.

Re: Court case Bonds???
Hi,
If you go to your bank they will send a letter to the court to say you have X amount held in an account for the bond. The bond will be returned to you after the court case has finnished, weather you win or loose. You must ask the court to return the original letter to them to release the money back to you. Hope that helps.

Re: Court case Bonds???
Thanks Steph, good to know. I was wondering about what if the case was lost. If that is the case and you get your money back, WHY DO THEY WANT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Does not make sense.

Re: Court case Bonds???

Re: Court case Bonds???
We have been told we cannot claim back the court expenses if we win. So why the bond?

Re: Court case Bonds???
The bond is also called a forigners bond. It is to secure the work of the courts incase the forigner takes court action then half way through leaves the country and doesn't see through to the end the case which they opened.

I have just been awarded all the court expenses back, the lawyer has to collect this on my behalf from the fiscal office

Re: Court case Bonds???
So, which is right? If we put up the bond, do we get it all back (like Steph and Pash say) or not, like Mary says.
