We would like to invite some friends to England

We have visited Hisaranou now for several years. We have several friends that we would like to invite over to where we live. How do we go about this and who do we contact, we have been told we need to contact the Embassy and send a letter to the person in question. Any help would be appreciated. Iam going to Izmir in November to a Turkish friends wedding and look foward to help celebrate the big day. Thank you

Re: We would like to invite some friends to England

I had friends over once but it was 10 years ago now.
All I had to do was send a letter of invitation to them and they did the rest.
They needed to get an application form for a Uk visa, submit it and then go to the Embassy in Istanbul for an interview which took place a couple of months later.
I can't remember if the visa was issued straight away or if they had to go back for it later but I remember it being quite expensive and you still pay a lot even if you're refused.
The British Embassy or Consulate web site should give you more up-to-date info.

Beverley welcome to Turkish Living...

Here is some more information that should help:

REQUISITE DOCUMENTS FOR A VISIT VISA (Turkey to UK)

All supporting documents that you consider may assist your application should be submitted (i.e. Invitations, bank statements). Please see below whether originals or photocopies are required. However, if you are required to attend an interview please ensure that you bring all original documents.

Please also note that this is the minimum documentation we require to consider your application, we may need to ask for other documents depending on your circumstances.

Essential information

1. Visa Application Form 1 (VAF1). Download Here

Please ensure that ALL relevant sections of the application form are completed in black ink. You should also ensure that the form has been signed or attested by means of a Thumbprint if you are unable to write.

2. TWO recently taken photographs –not scanned copies- (please note that photographs must have white background and must be glued to the application form) of each applicant.

3. Your current passport, valid for at least six months, with an available ‘visa’ page,

4. A photocopy of pages 1 to 4 of your current passport,

5. The CORRECT FEE - in Turkish Lira only.

6. Evidence of your financial status for example:

i) pay slips, or evidence of income [original]
ii) bank books, [photocopy]
iii) evidence of your family’s financial status, e.g. their pay slips, bank books. [photocopy]
iv) if you or your family own property, i.e. the title deeds [photocopy]

7. If self-employed - your company documentation: Chamber of Commerce registration, most recent tax certificate, signature circular, trade gazette etc [photocopy]

Additional Information that may help your application

8. A letter from your employer stating that you have leave from your job and when you are expected to resume duty. [original]

9. If available your old passports.

10. If you are a student, please provide your student registration document. [original]

11. Male applicants should provide evidence of the status of their Military Service. [photocopy]

12. From Sponsors: a letter of invitation [original], photocopies of their passport showing their immigration status in the UK, evidence of their financial status. [photocopy]

13. All children under the age of 18 travelling to the UK without their parents/guardians should carry a letter confirming that they have permission from their parent/guardian allowing them to travel.

VISA FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE

Further guidance about the requirements of the Immigration Rules, including a range of leaflets about specific categories, can be obtained from the website: www.ukvisas.gov.uk.

Hope this helps and your plans go well!
