Turkish friend visiting England : documents?
We have a turkish friend who would like to visit england to improve her english. My husband and I would be happy to put her up as our guest. We understand visas etc etc are hard to come by and require us to issue an invitation. Talking to a rep from a resort we have just returned from, we were informed that our prospective guest will need copies of our pay slips, documentary evidence of our house we own, etc etc. presumably to prove we are able to support her during the few months she is with us. Is this true, and exactly what documents should we send her ..... we anticipate a stay of a couple of months, although we understand the visas are usually issued for 6 months. Any advice gratefully received.

Re: Turkish friend visiting England : documents?
Rusty,
The British Embassy in Ankara has all the information you require.
Documents required for a Visit Visa
Application Form (Non-Settlement)
The forms are stored in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To read them on screen and print them out, you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader programme to be installed on your computer. You can download it free of charge from here

Re: Turkish friend visiting England : documents?
Good luck there, I know UK Visa's are extremely difficult, even impossible for many Turkish citizens.

Re: Turkish friend visiting England : documents?
Our friend has applied for his visit to the UK, our UK friend supplied copies of 2 payslips and she also sent copies of her passport including the copies of the pages with her visa stamps, in the letter she stated her occupation and that she owned her own house. this together with a letter of invitation and a seperate letter explaining why she was inviting. A bit long winded but most of the work is done by the Turkish Citizen.

Re: Turkish friend visiting England : documents?
I think you should check what photo copies are allowable and which original documents they require to support the application.
