Spending XMAS in Turkey

Anyone going over to spend xmas and new year in their place in Turkey?

Just wondering what travel and staying there is like during that period?

We thought about it Mushtaq but it was just too expensive, the flights would cost us a fortune as there are 5 of us and then girlfriend and boyfriends. We are going back to Prague for New Year but spending Christmas at home.

Re: Spending XMAS in Turkey

We went out on the 26th last December for 2 weeks
we flew to Izmir from heathrow with Lufthansa (not the best)
via Munich
We were incredibly lucky with the weather we had one wet day
one dull day the rest were sunny and mild, we travelled to Ovacik
for New year there was frost on the car at 2am in the morning,
we went down to the Fethiye saturday market new years
day and sat eating strawberries in the midday sun wearing Tshirts

We plan to go out 23 of December this year for 2-3 weeks if
anyone finds any good deals to either Dalaman or Izmir please
let me know

Oh and I went swimming in Sogut 3rd January, was warmer than
august over here!

The great thing about going over during winter months is that you
can get on with things that you really dont fancy doing when weather
is really hot, and for those that enjoy walking and exploring generally
you cant beat the winter & spring.

we always go to the dom rep every year for xmas and new year, but with buying the house we thought we would go to turkey, but the prices are so expensive,so we will stay at home this year hopefully next year the flights may be cheaper
