I can't see this being an option, not with the great desire to keep to the way of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

The Washington Post also had an editorial basically calling the Turkish prime minister an "Islamofascist." This is incredible nonsense. The Wall Street Journal had a more adult, intelligent assessment - try reading a grown up paper. Turkey is a complex country with many interest groups all genuinely trying to improve life for the country in their own ways, just like in the US or the UK. Turkey is learning and growing to be able to incorporate these divergent views and make the whole place better for everyone. So, the solution is to take a broad view, and not be captured by the narrow-minded, ignorant ones.
