Electric and water transfered into your name

Hello .......just a bit confused ...does anyone know how much to transfer water and electric into your own name....friends have just got the tapu this month with the help of Fullyer from the Solidarity place.....so they can now get it changed over from the builder to their names ...

Re: Electric and water transfered into your name

About 350-400TL each for new connections as you need to buy the meters and pay some deposit, about 50TL each for change of names only.

Re: Electric and water transfered into your name

I have my Tapu ( wrong box ticked) I have been paying the water & electric myself for a year now but the bill is still in the builders name how do I change it?
I registered and paid my council tax in September but when I asked at Aydem about changing the name the woman just grunted no English!

Re: Electric and water transfered into your name

they have a detached villa and have been charged builders rate, they already have meters so it is just the name changed, or do they need new meters ??

Re: Electric and water transfered into your name

Miss Moneypenny, I went to the Aydem in September and changed the electric into the names of two owners on our complex (I had their power of attorney) All you have to do is take your tapu, your passport and tax number to the Aydem. There is a guy who sits at a desk on your right as you come in and he is very helpful. If you have any outstanding electric bill you will have to pay it first. Then the fee to have the name change is just under 60tl.
Not sure about the process for changing the water into your name but do know that you will have to buy a new prepaid water meter (just introduced in June/July this year) and that costs 236tl in addition to whatever the registration into your name costs. if you take the same documentation there is a lady again sitting to the right who speaks good English and she will help you.
