B&Q Izmir

I've heard that there is a big B&Q (or it's equivalent in name) in Izmir, anyone been there, and does it have a big bathroom section?

Re: B&Q Izmir

from your name it looks like you are in Akbuk so why not just go to the Koc Tas (B&Q) in Kusadasi. Its a lot closer and easier to find

The problem with Izmir is that its HUGE. Sure, you can find Ikea because its just off the motorway (assuming you dont get lost on the motorways as they diverge in Izmir)

Re: B&Q Izmir

If you do go to the kusadasi koctas, further down the road on the same side going towards the town is the kaptan orglu shop that sells ceramic tiles and has a basement full of baths toilets basins and such--its maybe only a couple of hundred metres lower down than the koctas--just before the cemetary which is on the other side---and across from the cemetary theres a turkish restaurant called the bul bul--the nightingale--nice turkish food at good prices--i often go there for lunch---so if you get hungry........

Re: B&Q Izmir

The new Koc Tas in Balcova Izmir is a lot bigger than the Kusadasi store.

The bathroom selection in Izmir is very good.

From the motorway to Izmir. Follow the signs for Cesme on the toll road. When you see the Balcova turning, take it and follow the road down.
Turn left at the traffic lights and continue, drive past Agora on the right (big shopping centre) and then it's just 200 metres further on.
Along the same road is also a huge 5M migros and a huge Kipa and another two shopping centres. Should make a good day out.

Good luck,

Charlotte

Re: B&Q Izmir

Is there a Baumax up that way, we now have one in Bodrum, and it seems to sell better quality stuff than B & Q, it is also much bigger with a wider variety of choice

Not on that side of the bay unfortunately - there's a bauhaus in Karsiyaka.

Re: B&Q Izmir

It's the area of Izmir where Ikea is - it's not near Balcova (which is my side of Izmir, southern/Cesme side) but if you're coming from Didim or Kusadasi it's probably marginally closer.

Thanks for checking, I didn't know that there is one in Bornova (I always thought the only one was on the other side of the bay in Karsiyaka)
