Hi Folks, i think i may have a buyer for my apartment and the agent wants me to come out to Turkey next week, problem is my wifes name is on the Tapu as well and she cannot get off work. Can she give me power of attorney to act for her as well, also does anyone know the procedure Thanks Ole

Yes your wife can give you POA but you need to get it from the Turkish consulate or by a Turkish Notary your wife will have to sign it in front of the Notary.

Have you sold to a Turkish buyer? If not then as there is a temporary halt on selling to foreigners then perhaps you can delay coming out to Turkey until your wife can get the holiday.

Re: P o a

Tosmur, that is incorrect info. Ole, you just put search notary into your computer and you should find one in your area. Ours was in the next town to ourselves. We got P.O.A. to act for my daughter and son-in-law. cost approx 100. Took 2 days to come back from foreign and commonwealth office. they will tell you what you need when you phone them. And yes it does need notarising when you get over in Turkey. Steve is this correct? Ann

Re: P o a

yes you can do it from the uk ..it involves getting a aposstille form and the notary in tr accepts this...put a search on here there has been plenty of advice about it and instructions how do do it...no point in repeating it again.
