Dolmus Accident In Altinkum
I don't know if anyone knows about this tragic accident, but this was on another forum...
"The day before we came home from Altinkum there was an horrific accident on Ataturk Boul. For all of you that have used the dolmus you will know that they squash you in like sardines and the boy that collects the money jumps on and off at each stop to allow you on. Well, when this boy jumped off outside Valentines his dad thought he had got back on and drove off, the lad ran and jumped on the bus but slipped and went under the wheels of his dad's bus, the wheels went over his head and obviously killed him outright. Everyone came running but couldnt help and men and women where standing there sobbing. Now the police have stopped even standing on the dolmus. The poor man must be devastated.
Our thoughts are with this family."

Re: Dolmus Accident In Altinkum
This was on AA by PJRichards. It will probably be in Voices on line in the near future.
It has made a great difference to how the dolmus are being used now, but how long for???

Very sad story, That must be so hard for the father.
wow.... have just had a look at the link. You have a local English newspaper with real news in it. Wish we had that here in Fethiye. We get Land of lights. No news just touristy type things and reviews of events they never both to tell you about before they happened

How dreadful, this made me feel quite sick. Life is so precious and can be taken from you so quickly. Live for happiness, do not hurt others, and pray to your god that she/he will be there when needed.

Re: Dolmus Accident In Altinkum
Terrible. When we used the dolmus last time we were over the lad collecting fares was no more than 12 years old and was standing with his back to the open door whilst it was moving. He was holding onto nothing at all and my wife felt so worried watching him that she held her hand behind his back!
