Re: Information about Fethiye, Kas, and Koycegiz

Hi Matrix. I live in one of the small villages near Kaş. If you definitely want a site with 24-7 security and a big pool forget Kaş and Koyceğiz, there are none. Coupled with the fact that they are extremely quiet in the winter you are probably better off looking elsewhere.

There is a beautiful new park opposite the Devlet Hospital which borders the coast line and a superb promenade that connects Fethiye town to the more expat resort of Calis that you can run along or cycle.
Having been to the other two and left fairly quickly - although both nice for short visits but lacking sufficient infrastructure - I would adjust your plans to spend more time in Fethiye (Foca Mah or Akarca Mah) - you won’t regret it.

What do you think about Ovacik, Hisaronu, Oludeniz, and Gocek areas in Fethyie?

Ovacik and Hisaronu practically closed in winter although the supermarkets are open as are some of the bars. Good expat communities. I live in Kaya so not too aware of the complexes although I do know that there are some. It is good for nature and walking.

Hisaronu and Oludeniz baically close down in winter. The other two area's are very quiet in winter. We went for a drive to Ovacik to have something to eat recently and the few restaurants that were open were empty so we turned around and headed back to Calis. Where the sea front was heaving with locals and ex-pats. xx

In my experience of previously owning 2 properties in the area over 11 years - most people in those areas spend a lot of their time commuting to the Fethiye and Calis (Foca Mah) areas - particularly as others say in the late October to late May period and when they want to make significant purchases.
