House Insurance
I know that there is compulsory earthquake insurance but believe that only covers 40% of cost if house falls down?
Is there insurance to fully cover a house in Turkey?
Another thought, if there is, would it cover 3/5 story apartments?
Can you fully cover for earthquakes? Surely theyre considered an act of God, as the insurance companies call it?

We got quotes from Garanti bank in January, for house, contents and earthquake (tho separate govt. earthquake insurance is compulsory anyway). They asked the purchase price and the size of the house in sq metres.
for 100 sq m, £40,000 house and £5,000 contents they quoted £145 p.a.
The woman at the bank said the house price was expensive, and it might be more realistic for rebuilding costs to cover for £28,000 house, £5,000 contents, quote £103.
as starman & juco said, the value it says on your tapu and the cost of rebuilding is less than what most of us paid for our houses, so I guess its safe to go for the lower quote.
