Intasure Quote
I checked the old threads and went to Intasure for a quote to insure the apartment, they got back to me very quickly with a quote
£50,000 Buildings & £6000 contents accidental damage and earthquake. £150 excess (i think) = £231.38
Is this reasonable this year or are others offering better prices?
Help appreciated

Re: Intasure Quote
Hi debs,
It does seem reasonable , best to check what your rebuild cost would be for your apartment. Intasure has some restrictions - no liability insurance for communal areas / pools being one to be aware of.
DASK ( earthquake insurance ) is not included I think.

Re: Intasure Quote
Ok - now I'm confused.
I just got a quote from Insuredabroad,
£50,000 re-build home
£6000 contents
£150 excess. You then click for accidental damage, and earthquake and a little calculator adds the additional premium. - I clicked both.
I didn't choose accidental damage by tenant (it took it £26 extra, good option though and you can see what your 'extra's' cost)
Total: £161.36 (lower tax and admin)
Then - I get the quote from insuredabroad by e-mail - and its headed paper is INTASURE.
Compare like this:
Insuredabroad / Intasure
50k Buildings £148.50 / 50k Buildings £103.95
6K Contents £52.80 /6K Contents £36.96
Tax & other costs £12.08 / tax other £8.45
I'll go with Insuredabroad - and if they bump it up when I go to pay I'll let you know!

Re: Intasure Quote
Hi debs,
If you have selected earthquake as an extra, then that should be your "dask" insurance . Its not included as standard - but it sounds like you have taken it as an option.

Re: Intasure Quote
Hello Sniffy,
I took the current route your on for insurance which I thought was expensive and had drawbacks. We have a gold insurance from Gunay Sigorta for £200 for our 4 bed villa in turkey. This includeds medical assistance and a call centre if repairs are needed with no excess. The drawback with turkish insurance can be the lenght of time it takes to process a claim.Other than that as long as you report immediately to the police, and you have your receipts OK. James.

Re: Intasure Quote
Hi everyone
On this topic I am also currently insured with Intasure and as Mr Turkey has mentioned they do not provide liability insurance for communal areas such as pool etc. Does anyone know of a company that would provide such cover as a seperate policy. I am not sure what ones liability would be in Turkey, if god forbid, someone was to get injured whilst renting a property and making use of communal facilities. Anyone got any advice regarding this subject?

Re: Intasure Quote
Thanks for all replies - after a bit of confusion re: payments I went ahead with the intasure policy under their net name insuredabroad. The total pament £198 inc. accidental damage (didnt take accidental by tenants option) and earthquake.
Helen from intasure (who has called me 3 times) says this also includes public liability for accidents at the pool. (I asked after your posts) I will wait till I get the full policy schedule to double check this as I am not convinced.
One thing to look out for - if you click earthquake and the price doesn't go up, it hasn't registered. Worth noting as thats why my internet quote was £161, this has to be refunded now and I have to pay again. This is meant to happen tomorrow - fingers crossed
Have to say - so far Intasure staff have been friendly & pleasant and have responded when they say they will and have tried to find out the answers to questions.
So far so good

Re: Intasure Quote
We have a policy with Intasure.
Does it state clearly on your English Policy that you are covered for Earthquake Damage if you took this option out?
We thought we had taken it out, but can't see it mentioned on our policy.
